Land Before Time

There is a reason why Lydia thinks that computers are for watching movies.

Lydia is watching "The Land Before Time," and I told her that I used to watch that when I was little like her. She said, "When you were going poopoo? When it was too hard for you?" I'm glad that she understands that I was once young.

Lydia's birthday

This year we celebrated Lydia's birthday in Seattle. We've invited two families that we knew in the area and and had a great time. Lydia loves parties, especially if they follow Strawberry Shortcake story fortmat. So she requested for everyone to wear party hats, make mini-pizzas and friendship bracelets. The birthday girl had her cake, too, and of course, it was stawberry shortcake. The party was so much fun! Paul and I still can't believe that Lydia is 3 years old already.

Rowing

This is the umpteenth episode of Cuff family summer adventures. We only have 3 weeks left here in Seattle and we are determined to see and experience all we can.

This weekend we went on a little row boat excursion. There is a place on lake Washington that has been enticing us with its beauty for a long time. So we rented a boat, rolled up our sleeves, and "sailed to sea" (to lake, to be exact). Our route took us under freeways and into little quiet lagoons. We loved having ducks for company and even saw some black turtles sunbathing on a log.

Lydia was such a good sport and helped Daddy row. Paul got pretty good at navigating our boat and I acted as a restraining jacket for Tyler. He got so wet from trying to crawl around our row boat. I guess we exhausted him that day, cause he fell asleep in my arms (something very unusual for this active kid) before we reached shore. All in all, we wished we could have stayed out longer, but kids are kids and they need their naps. However, we can surely say that this little adventure was one of our best this summer.
