Sesame Place

Larisa was gone while the wood floors were being put in. The kids and I needed to do something out of the house. So we enjoyed the beach and Sesame Place.

I was surprised how fun Sesame Place was. We had only a couple of hours, so we went ran all around to get on things. Sometimes Tyler would wonder even though I told him to stay with me. I rubbed it in one time when Lydia got on a ride and he didn't because I had to go back and get him from wherever he was wondering. I showed him that Lydia got on the ride but the rides full, and he of course didn't know we'd stick around for another ride after so he could have a chance. That boy is so sensitive. He started explaining that he wanted to go on the ride and his words quickly slurred into a cry---one of those cries that's genuine but full of short threatening jabs, where every second or two the pitch elevates. I felt bad. Most of the day was very fun for them.

Tyler has a Way with Words

A month or two ago I was doing something in the kitchen and heard Tyler mumbling at the table: "eins, zwei, drei, vier, funf." I tuned around surprised and asked what he was doing (still remembering German from my high school trip to Germany). He gave a little bit of a sheepish smile. "It's my school. They like fumf."
