Tyler's birthday

Tyler's birthday celebration started last Sunday, on the day of his actual birthday. Kids helped make cupcakes which we brought to Tyler's nursery class at church. He was excited. He talked about having cupcakes for his birthday for a long time.

When we got home, we sang a "Happy Birthday" song, then opened his presents. We wished we had the camera rolling to capture Tyler's "WOW"s as he took out the contents of each present. We played with all the fun toys for the rest of the evening.

Next Friday was the day of his official birthday party. We invited a few friends and played with the water toys. Kids took our new slip and slide for a ride. Even the youngest kids got the sliding action down.

To cool off from the outside heat, we came inside for some cake and ice-cream. Once again, we sang the birthday song. I could see the excitment in Tyler's eyes as he listened to everybody's singing and reveled in the attention. Our little boy was trilled to turn "three and a half" (That's Tyler's new response to the age question).
