Ice Cream made with Cold Air

LiquidNitrogen

Today I'm going to Lydia's preschool to make liquid nitrogen ice cream. I had to learn how to do it, so on Monday I brought liquid nitrogen home for family home evening with our friends. It was a blast. Tyler kept trying to tough everything. There's fog coming out of the ice cream mixer, and he's trying to reach his hand in. They loved putting marshmallow and balloons in, and poring it on the floor. Lydia has a good memory. We were telling Laura about the activity, and I asked Lydia to explain on the phone how we made the ice cream. She said, "we used air that was so cold you could see it."

I hope things go that well at the nursery school today.

I Wish I were an Adult

One afternoon last week I was sneaking some ice cream. Lydia came in the room and hadn't seen it yet, but I decided not to be a sneak anymore and just share. So she was happy to get a little bit of afternoon ice cream. Then she asked, "why are you eating ice cream?" I told her something dumb like it's because I like ice cream. Then she responded, "I wish I were an adult---then I wouldn't have to ask to eat ice cream."
